Day 8. Sunday check-in.

All right, this week has been sort of a disappointment. I was trying to put in more hours at work, wasn't feeling amazing, and just sort of postponed everything. First I thought, okay, I'll start for real on Sunday (my first free day of the week). However, I did do some things before that too, so I'm not hopeless. I looked at some posts of people looking for buddies, and joined a small group who were all beginners working through TOP/FCC. This actually motivated me to put in a few hours before Sunday.

I finished the Installations part of TOP (mostly I just needed to install git, because I have a dual boot system on my laptop from App Academy times, and I've used VS Code before. I did a large chunk of JavaScript Basics exercises on FCC (for warm-up, while I was trying to get myself to get to installations - I thought I would need to do more than it really happened to be). I finished the HTML Basics and CSS Basics modules on FCC. It's a bit all over the place, but since I'm doing these like 4th time, it's a bit hard to keep focus. I completed Fundamentals 1 and 2 in JavaScript Basics in TOP (some parts I skipped though, but I did do the exercises and those were easy).

I'm eager to go through this sort of review part and get to doing things where I can actually create something. When I was doing App Academy a couple years ago, there were all these games, it was very satisfying to finish them. I looked at some projects from JS Basics module in TOP that are coming, and at least now I have an idea of how they're going to be done - Rock-Paper-Scissors and Etch-a-Sketch. This is encouraging. The Calculator is confusing though. Okay hopefully I'll finish all three next week? Okay at least two! (Rock-Paper-Scissors seems fairly straightforward, Etch-a-Sketch should take some time).
